§ 2-92. Fire department.

  • There is hereby created and established a fire department whose head shall be known as the chief of the fire department. This department shall be responsible for fire protection, fire inspections as required by law, and emergency rescue squads. The head of this department shall keep the town manager informed of the activities of the department and shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the town manager in writing. The head of this department shall be appointed by the town manager subject to the approval of the town council and may be removed by the town manager with the approval of the town council.
