§ 4.03. Town attorney.

  • The council shall appoint an officer of the town who shall have the title of town attorney. The compensation of the town attorney shall be fixed by the council. The town attorney shall act as legal advisor to and attorney for the council, the town manager and all town departments, offices and agencies, shall represent the town in all legal proceedings and shall perform any other professional duties prescribed by this Charter or by ordinance. The town attorney shall be a lawyer admitted to practice before all courts of the State of Florida and the Federal District Court. Such attorney may or may not be a resident of the town.
