§ 30-64. Barricades, guards and traffic directors.

  • Any person making an opening or excavation in any street, alley or public ground shall protect such openings by means of proper barricades with flashing lights and maintain the same during the period of all construction work in accordance with reasonable safety requirements approved by the chief of police in the town. Any opening or excavation not properly protected shall be immediately closed by the town and the costs thereof charged against the applicant. When necessary, the chief of police may require the permit holder to furnish personal guards and traffic directors.
