Whenever a building or structure which is within ten feet of a street line or more
than 25 feet in height is to be constructed, demolished or altered or whenever any
construction, demolition, alteration, cleaning or removing of heavy objects or other
work that is to be done on or next to the exterior of such building or structure adjacent
to street lines or public space, the owner or person doing or causing such work to
be done shall erect and maintain sheds, barricades, fences or other protective measures
adjacent to sidewalks or street lines as provided in this article and approved by
the town manager.
