§ 20-24. Notice to abate.
Whenever a nuisance is found to exist within the town or within the town's extraterritorial jurisdiction, the magistrate shall authorize the town to give up to five days written notice to the owner or occupant of the property upon which such nuisance exists or upon the person causing or maintaining the nuisance.
Upon a finding by the magistrate that a recurring nuisance, or nuisance deemed reasonably likely to recur, exists upon an abandoned property, the magistrate may authorize ongoing abatement of the nuisance by the town. The town shall still be required to comply with the notice provisions of this section prior to any recurring abatement action.
