§ 12-65. Permit and inspection fees.

  • (a)

    Permits not valid. No electrical permit issued by the town clerk shall be valid until fees proscribed by this section, as well as any additional fees incurred by the town resulting from services rendered by the county inspection personnel related to the projects at issue, shall have been paid to the town clerk and evidence of such payment is marked on the face of such permit, except that permits issued in connection with construction, work or improvements to be done pursuant to a contract with any governmental agency or for work, construction or improvements on any land, building or structure owned by any governmental agency shall be exempt from the payment of such fees and the word "Exempt" shall be entered on the face of such permit.

    (b)

    Fee for inspection of work previously covered. Fees for work covered up prior to inspection shall be twice the amount of the regular permit fee specified herein. The inspection shall require the covered work be exposed before reinspection.

    (c)

    Permit fees for electrical inspections. Permit fees for electrical inspections are as follows: A base fee of $50.00 is to be charged for all electrical permits. This base fee is in addition to the applicable fees listed below:

    (1)

    Single-family dwellings, not to exceed 100-amp service ..... $ 5.00

    (2)

    Single-family dwellings, not to exceed 200-amp service ..... 10.00

    (3)

    Commercial pools ..... 25.00

    (4)

    For every 25 outlets, receptacles, switches, fixtures or fraction thereof: $2.00 per combined group of 25.

    (5)

    Single unit or group of motors, generators and transformers not exceeding five motors, generators and transformers whose total capacity does not exceed:

    a.

    One hp or kw through five hp or kw (per hp or kw) ..... 2.00

    b.

    Five hp or kw through 30 hp or kw (per hp or kw) ..... 1.00

    (6)

    Service meter equipment and/or feeders:

    a.

    For each 100 amps or fraction thereof up to 600 volts ..... 10.00

    b.

    Services exceeding 600 volts ..... 5.00

    (7)

    Commercial radio and/or television transmitter ..... 40.00

    (8)

    Temporary service:

    a.

    First 100 amperes rating or fractional part thereof ..... 10.00

    b.

    For each additional 100 amperes rating or fractional part thereof ..... 5.00

    (9)

    Additional inspection due to delay or not being ready ..... 35.00
